At just gone 1pm on the 2nd April 2026 my E-type was loaded onto the transporter that is taking it off to its new home. I experienced mixed emotions, glad to know it is going somewhere where it will bring a lot of pleasure to its new owner, but sad to see the car that I have cherished for so long leave me. Hey Ho, just another chapter in this car’s interesting history!
Enjoy the car Colin!
The end of an era for me :-( and the start of a new chapter in this lovely E-type’s history. Colin became the new owner of this wonderful car, and tomorrow a transport lorry will be coming to collect it and take it to its new home in Cambridgeshire.
The car has given me enormous pleasure over the 11 years that I have been its custodian, but it has had very little use since I got my Series 1 E-type, and its only right that it should go to someone who is going to get much more use.
I will post a picture of the car being collected, and then that will be the last you will hear about me. However, I am confident that Colin is a perfect owner and will take great care and pleasure of the car for a number of years. I have seen photos of the new garage that awaits, and it is immaculate with built in air conditioning and... would you believe it... a fully carpeted floor!

Tomorrow, my lovely car’s new owner Colin and his wife Christine are coming down to see the car one more time and to buy it, so I needed to bring it up from my other garage and swapped it with my Series 1 E-type.
I haven’t started it for ages so expected to struggle (my Series 1 was a real pain to start), but it gunned into life within 10 seconds.
I took it for a little spin over Beachy Head and through Birling Gap which is exceptionally popular with Japanese, and other East Asian tourists, due to massive social media exposure, celebrity endorsements, and its appearance in media, transforming it into a "must-visit" destination. The iconic white cliffs are famously featured in a music video by Taiwanese singer Jay Chou and appeared on Microsoft Windows wallpapers, triggering high interest.
As I approached the Birling Gap car park, a young couple jumped into the road and started filming me. We both waved and smiles vigorously at each other before I disappeared off into the sunset!
The car drove beautifully and looks a picture. I am sure that Colin will absolutely love it and get much more use than I have over the last 5 years.
